Protecting Our Bays with Ecological Mooring Systems

To halt the damage caused by traditional anchoring to the seabed, we are directing diving boats, daily excursion boats, and private yachts towards an innovative solution.

In sensitive marine areas, we are entirely eliminating the destructive effects of anchors by ensuring that boats utilize ecological/new-generation mooring systems.

This pioneering initiative will not only protect nature but will also establish a regional model and a source of awareness for determining the sustainable boat capacity of the bays.

To stop this destruction, we are directing diving boats, daily excursion boats, and private yachts in the region toward environmentally friendly, new-generation mooring systems (tonoz systems). By using these systems instead of anchoring, we aim to completely eliminate the damage caused to the seabed.

The scientific foundation of our project is strengthened by the expertise of our Project Scientific Advisor, Dr. Mert Gökalp, who personally conducts seagrass conservation efforts in the region.
