As part of its scientific research dedicated to protecting Posidonia oceanica, one of the Mediterranean’s most important marine ecosystems, Eco Legacy Mediterranean has completed one of the most comprehensive analyses ever conducted along the Bodrum Peninsula coastline. Presenting the findings, Eco Legacy Mediterranean Founder and marine biologist Dr. Mert Gökalp highlighted that between 1,000 and 2,000 hectares of seagrass have been lost in Bodrum since 2004, emphasizing: “To protect fish populations and ultimately human life, we must first protect seagrass meadows.”
